The Dalliance Training Model: Exceptional Intern Mentorship and Care

Dalliance was intentionally created as a mentorship-driven training practice. As Co-Founders and Clinical Directors, Heather DeKeyser and Trish Andrews built Dalliance to address a gap they saw in the field – too many therapists navigating complex relational and sexual dynamics without the depth of training and support required for this work.

The Dalliance Training Model is designed to change that.

At Dalliance, interns and early-career clinicians develop their craft within a highly collaborative clinical environment. Each clinician is carefully selected for their emotional intelligence, relational depth, and alignment with our philosophy of therapy—often as second-career therapists bringing maturity and lived experience into the room.

What sets our model apart is the level of mentorship behind the scenes. Heather and Trish provide ongoing supervision and case consultation, and the entire team participates in advanced trainings each year focused on relationships, sexuality, attachment, and trauma.

For clients, this means your therapist is never working in isolation. Your care is supported by the collective insight, mentorship, and clinical rigor of the entire Dalliance team—bringing thoughtful, deeply supported care to the work you do together.

At its core, Dalliance is built on the belief that great therapy is created not in isolation, but through mentorship, collaboration, reflection, and a shared commitment to the craft of relational work.

How are Dalliance interns trained and supervised?

Our early career clinicians are carefully selected for their emotional intelligence, relational depth, and alignment with the Dalliance philosophy of therapy. They work within a highly supported environment that includes ongoing supervision and case consultation with Co-Founders and Clinical Directors Heather DeKeyser and Trish Andrews, along with advanced team trainings in relationships, sexuality, attachment, and trauma.

Yes. At Dalliance, early career clinicians are not working in isolation—they are supported by a collaborative team and receive consistent supervision. Many clients find our staff therapists to be highly engaged, thoughtful, and deeply present in their work.

While senior clinicians and Dalliance co-founders often have limited availability, working with an early career clinician allows you to begin sooner while still receiving care within the same Dalliance model. These clinicians bring curiosity, intention, and a high level of investment in their clients, supported by ongoing mentorship and training.

Dalliance is a mentorship-based training practice where clinicians develop their craft within a collaborative, highly supervised environment. For clients, this means your therapist is supported by the collective insight and consultation of the entire Dalliance team—bringing depth and thoughtfulness to your care.

We offer a free 20-minute consultation to help you find the best fit. During that conversation, we’ll learn more about what you’re looking for and guide you toward a clinician who aligns with your needs, preferences, and goals.

Dalliance is both a therapy practice and a training facility. This means your care is shaped not only by your therapist, but by a culture of mentorship, collaboration, and ongoing learning. We specialize in relationships and sexuality, bringing both clinical depth and a modern, relational approach to our work.
