Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get started?
Dalliance offers a free 20-minute consultation where you can share your why for seeking therapy, goals for therapy, learn more about our approach, ask general questions about the therapy process, etc. After this conversation, if you feel like the therapist’s expertise is aligned with your goals, we will set up an initial intake session.
How long are sessions?
The length of treatment is unique to each client and is often based on the presenting issue(s), client treatment goal(s) and frequency of sessions. Another benefit of seeing an OON (Out of Network) provider is that after your initial assessment, we can discuss a general timeline of what you can expect based off of your personal history and goals to tailor your sessions and frequency.
What insurances do you accept?
At this time, we currently accept Kaiser Permanente, Cigna, and United Healthcare. There is a place in the paperwork to provide your health insurance benefit information to your therapist so we can bill your insurance.
For all other insurances, we are happy to provide you with an invoice called a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
How do I apply out-of-network benefits?
Using your out-of-network benefits, many insurance companies will provide you with 20% to 80% reimbursement for sessions. If you choose to apply your out-of-network behavioral or mental health benefits the therapist will need to provide the insurance company with a diagnosis. Reach out to your insurance company and ask the following questions:
- What is my out-of-network deductible?
- How much of this deductible has already been met?
- Is there an annual limit to the number of sessions or total amount that is reimbursable?
- What is the rate of reimbursement for CPT code 90837 or 90834?
- Do I need pre-certification or pre-authorization?
You can also ask your insurance company or HR rep at work if you can use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flex Spending Account (FSA) to pay for therapy.
What If I need to cancel my appointment?
When you schedule a session, that time is reserved solely for you. For this reason, if you need to cancel or reschedule a session, we ask that you provide a 48-hour notice. If you miss a session without canceling or cancel with less than a 48-hour notice, you will be charged the full fee for the session.
What if I see my therapist outside of therapy?
In the event you see your therapist outside of the session, we are discreet and will maintain your confidentiality. If you choose to approach your therapist, they will follow your lead, so it is your choice to acknowledge the encounter or not.
What if I don't click with you?
Finding the right therapist is a lot like dating, it can take a long time and a number of “first dates” to find a therapist that feels like the right fit for you! You are absolutely entitled keep looking until you find the right therapist. If you find you aren’t fitting well and aligning with your therapist, please feel free to discuss this directly with your therapist or send an email to the intake coordinator at hello@andrewsrelationshipcounseling.com and they will help you find a therapist that will be a better fit for you.
